Anerkennung
Recognition (Anerkennung): how your Indian degree becomes German
Nursing is a regulated profession in Germany, so your qualification must be officially recognised before you work as a registered nurse. We manage the entire file for you.
We submit your documents to the recognition authority of your target German state
You receive a Defizitbescheid, an official notice listing any gaps between your training and the German standard
You close the gaps in Germany via a Kenntnisprüfung (knowledge exam) or an Anpassungslehrgang (paid adaptation course at your employer)
Until then you work, and earn, as a qualified nursing assistant at the same employer
🗣️ German language: your most important step
You need B2-level German for nursing registration. Our structured pathway takes you from A1 to B2 in 6–9 months, including medical German and preparation for the telc B2 / B2 Pflege or Goethe exam.
🛂 Your visa options
§16d Recognition Visa
Travel to Germany with B1/B2 German and complete your recognition while working at your sponsor employer. The most common route for nurses.
§18a Skilled Worker Visa
For nurses whose qualification is already fully recognised, fly directly into a registered-nurse role.
FAQs
Common questions
GNM nurses are absolutely eligible. The German recognition process evaluates your training hours and subjects, not just the degree name. Most GNM nurses complete a short adaptation period or knowledge exam in Germany.
